Eastern Daily Press featured this restoration process. They talked about how Norfolk could welcome a famous ship by Easter. Once the major refurbishment announced done.
Albatros is a two-masted clipper that carried cargo around Europe for a century. In the years before the Second World War, she was able to sail as a tramp with an engine and only steadying sails.
This made her a versatile ship, able to travel to a variety of ports and carry a variety of cargo.

She was also able to transport refugees and political dissidents out of Denmark. As well as the weapons necessary to support the Danish resistance.
The Albatros was a unique ship because she was able to adapt to changing conditions. She was able to switch from being a cargo vessel to a passenger ship during the war. She was like a ship of secrets - carrying both goods and a boatload of secrets!
Let’s take a look at a close-up image of Albatros taken by Bob Richardson.

According to Michael Meade, “The ship is always off course. Anybody who sails knows that. Sailing is being off course and correcting. That gives a sense of what life is about.”
