Isabel Lederman - A Home Cook and Food Influencer
Isabel Lederman is a Philadelphia-based home cook. She didn't grow up in the kitchen learning how to cook. She doesn't have family recipes passed down to her. She had access to eating so many different cuisines growing up in Southern California. The food that she prepares is from local ingredients and of good quality. From simple meals, Isabel incorporates the art of designful plating. She loves to make fresh pasta, and her top request for a dish is sardine pasta.
Isabel is a very creative person. Her current job is non-food related. She works for a design and technology studio. She got busy with this job and growing the business. She had no time to do something creative. After reading a book about maintaining a studio practice during COVID, she began to write about her love of cooking. She started Leftburner and began documenting her dishes. The Instagram community of home cooks loved her posts, so she kept her pace and kept doing it.
"When I started Leftburner I hadn't planned to disclose my identity. But as I continue to post to the account I am getting more comfortable with introducing myself and who I am."

For Isabel, cooking is about understanding the process and technique. She’s into simple dishes with seasonal quality ingredients. Her main influence on food is Italian cooking.
She loves to groove in the kitchen with her Syosaku Gyuto knife. She even did an unboxing video of the knife!
"The Gyotu knife has quickly become a top tool in my kitchen. Although the knife is lightweight, it balances perfectly in my hand and I reach for it time and time again for a variety of slicing needs. One of my favorite high quality knives."

"While this type of handle design is not usually something I would gravitate towards, the blade is impressively sharp and durable. It’s very light weight and I will be using this knife primarily for when traveling to cook."
