nice balance, confront handle and super sharp
I got a charger plate for my wife Erin as a Christmas present, and its a beautiful example of Urushi craftsmanship with its striking splashes of gold leaf and powder over a black background.
Because the plates are so strikingly beautiful, we haven't used them as platters to serve food we display them on stands. But it's good to know that I can use the plates like we do our collection of Japanese ceramic dishes and platters
Syosaku, Santoku style knife is one of my favorite knives to cut pretty much anything. However, I use mostly for meat and some vegetables. I enjoy using it at my restaurant kitchen as well as at home. Sheer simplicity, easy to sharpen due to its right ratio of carbon and steel, multiple layers of metal. The best part is its sharpness stays for a very long time, which is extremely key for both home and professional use. Finally, beaten metal gives it a classy appeal and of course the Mahogany handle is an absolute cherry on the cake.
Multipurpose and versatile, this knife is super sharp and you can retain the edge fairly quickly. Ive had it for over two years now, and its been incredibly useful; from slicing fish to chopping vegetables, the Syosaku knifes artisan qualities truly shine.
I took a chance on this knife as it is made by a new company. It is very light and well balanced which makes it easy to maneuver. The handle design is shaped nicely to fill the hand. It comes laser sharp and has the build quality of a much more expensive knife. I would buy it again.
Awesome! Grape tomatoes weigh almost nothing, so that blade is sharp as hell!!!
My Syosaku-Japan Nakiri knife is a true joy to use, and my go-to knife whenever I have any vegetables or meat to slice. Its razor-sharp edge and perfect balance in my hand makes slicing and dicing FUN -- it's the best way to describe the experience having such a fine tool to use in my cooking!
My Santoku from Syosaku-Japan is not only sharp, light and utilitarian, but it's also a beautiful object, like a work of art. From its hard, super-sharp blade to its beautiful Damascus steel pattern, it's a knife to show off as well as to use every day.
Effortless cutting. To know if a knife cuts, we test it on a ripe tomato. This knife slices a tomato effortlessly and without crushing it. Also easily cuts hard vegetables like carrots and potatoes. The price is there, but so is the quality. I recommend it. I wash it by hand after each use and store it in its case.
This plate is both a piece of art which serves great as decoration and an incredible dish that has potential for years of use. Urushi color is magnificent and this dish is simply beautiful, it's so vibrant that it can be the centerpiece of any dinner and this will definitely catch the eye of everyone. In dimension, this plate is huge and would more than likely be utilized as a serving dish. This dish is art, it's beautiful enough to be the centerpiece of any dinner or meal and the materials are sensational. It is dishwasher safe but, I would still recommend hand washing it. If you're looking for an extraordinary serving plate, this is definitely one I would suggest.
This is an absolutely stunning dinner plate. It's by far the best quality plate I have ever owned, nothing compares to it. The colors are so unbelievably saturated and rich. The gold leaf over iridescent dark blue is an absolutely amazing combination. The plate is heavier than most others on the market and has a thick glass like coating that is very strong. Holding this plate in my hand I could immediately tell this was a high quality plate, I own nothing else that is close to comparable to the quality and beauty of this plate. The craftsmanship of this plate is FLAWLESS. The plate is exactly as described and would make a perfect gift.
This glass charger plate is beautiful to look at it and it makes a perfect dish to serve treats on for guests. I was shocked at the price for one charger plate but it does appear to be high quality and it's the most beautiful plate I've ever seen in person. It was packed nicely with no issues. This plate would honestly look awesome on a wall as it changes colours depending on the angle and sunlight.Overall it's a very nice beautiful plate but it's very expensive and I have to be extra careful with it.
Pros;So beautiful, Very large, Interesting pattern, Well sealed Cons;None!! This is truly a piece of art! Not only is it practical but the colors make this a conversation piece. It changes according to where you display it. A little asbstract, the pattern adds a certain charm to it. Not sure that I would actually use this to serve food even though it states that its food safe. It will definately never go into the dishwasher. There seems to be a pretty thick lacquer coating on it which is necessary to eliminate marks and I would assume, to keep it food safe, but I think it takes away from the beauty of it. A beautiful piece.
This Japanese plate is outright stunning. The minute one opens the package and look at the plate they realize this is something esthetically special. Its high quality is shining through, material is smooth and luxurious. When holding the plate colors are changing when in different angles from window lights - we see shades of blue and purple at different times of the day. Plate is a great hospitality piece and also as a gift for someone who appreciates nice home decore items. We loved it so much that we ended up hanging it for a display on a wall in our dining area, it fits beautifully and gives an additional tier of glamour and charm. Happy to recommend.
