"This is a 7-inch Molybdenum Vanadium Clad Stainless Steel, super sharp and dishwasher safe. Perfect size for a lot of my kitchen work!
Note: do not cut into bone with Japanese kitchen knives! I turned these ribs over to see where to cut. The knife worked perfectly."

"I trimmed off the rind of the watermen with a 7-inch Molybdenum Vanadium Clad Stainless Steel after slicing it using an 8.3-inch Premium Molybdenum Stainless Steel Gyuto Chef Knife with great weight and balance. Super sharp and dishwasher safe. Both elevate cooking from a chore to a pleasure. They handle well with perfect balance, and of course are crazy sharp."

Effortless Slicing with a Handmade Japanese Knife

Product was in perfect condition when it arrived. I never expected to be so excited about a Gyuto chef knife, but here we are. The first thing I tried was something very simple, slicing Spam for breakfast. By itself, my old knife would squish it a bit and leave an ugly mess. But with this handcrafted chef knife, I hardly needed any force at all. I well glided through as if I was cutting butter, yielding me perfectly clean slices. Even in my home kitchen, it felt like a proper chef’s tool.

Mom’s new favorite kitchen bestie!

I've been saving up to buy a gift for my mom for this year's Valentine's, instead of just chocolates (which she loves btw) I wanted to get her something she can use everyday. I thought of a knife since she also loves cooking. She opened it and used it right away.. when she sliced the tomato, she literally just went "WOW!"...she couldn’t get over how lightweight and sharp it is. She has a new bestie now lol 😆 If you need a perfect gift for someone who loves to cook, THIS IS IT!!! the best gyuto knife!

At first, I was skeptical of this Handmade Knife

At first, I was skeptical. This small brand isn’t as famous as the big names, but I gave it a shot because I wanted a handmade kitchen knife without paying a fortune. And wow! This knife proved itself fast.

Most knives in this price range usually dull or rust too fast, but this Japanese gyuto knife holds up without constant care. The missing bolster makes handling it easier, and the balance feels just right..steady without being too heavy. It’s light enough for controlled cuts but has enough weight to feel solid. Even after chopping a whole batch of onions, carrots, and squash, my hands didn’t feel strained at all.

I respect brands that focus on quality over hype, and Syosaku does just that.

I felt like a pro

Using the Syosaku Gyuto kitchen knife for the first time feels like a game-changer in my cooking journey. It sliced through my onions easily... No squishing, no mess, just perfect slices. Compared to my older knives which gave me a hard time, this knife was built different! It felt light yet balanced in my hand, and the Molybdenum Vanadium clad stainless steel blade stayed razor-sharp throughout the prep.

What really impressed me was how versatile and easy it was to use. I tried to use it in chopping herbs, slicing meat, or dicing potatoes. The handle is comfortable best for longer prep sessions. The Japanese kitchen knife is also dishwasher-safe, easy cleaning! This a stunning addition to any kitchen. As a home cook, I know it's an investment I won’t regret.

High-performance knives

I used these knives in my recipes.

In making Ciambellone Biancaneve, I use my super sharp knife by Syosaku as I peel the apples and cut them into small cubes. When done, I cut a nice slice of cake, with the same high- performing knife, the 180mm Gyuto knife with bolster.

I also used the knife 180mm knife without bolster in cutting the meat into small cubes for my Pappardelle Al Ragu Di Cinghiale recipe. This knife with an ergonomic handle helps a lot in the kitchen, for clean and precise cuts.

Thanks to these knives.

I outlived my old knives

Finally after 40+ years using my wedding knives, I treated myself to one new knife and the first thing I cut was a potato. It cut like it was soft butter! The knife lives on top of my microwave now, the only knife I use!

A Tested and Trusted Chef’s Knife That Slices Effortlessly

I’ve been using this Syosaku Japanese Gyuto for a few weeks now, and I can confidently say it lives up to its promise. Right out of the box, it was razor-sharp, but what impressed me most is how well it holds its edge. From delicate fruits to dense meats, every cut is smooth and precise. The balance feels just right in my hand, making prep work easier and more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a high-quality Japanese knife that delivers on both performance and craftsmanship, this one is worth every penny.

Relative loves it!

Bought it as a gift for a relative who's getting into fancy cooking, and she loves it. Very reasonable price compared to Wusthofs and reviews said they're a little better anyways, and it sounds like I made the right choice.

It's good

Nothing to complain about. It's not as long lasting as a more expensive knife, but has been working well for nearly half a year of daily use on fish, fruits, and vegetables. Can't speak to tougher meats.
